What type of Curtain Rod will be best for Blackout Curtains?

I'm getting blackout curtains in my room, And many reviews for curtain rods say that using them with blackouts defeat the purpose because of how far the rod is away from the wall, allowing light from outside to get in.

However, When I purchase My blackout curtains, I do not want this to happen. So What type of curtain rod would be best for my blackout curtains?

-Brands, Prices, Stores and Sites are appreciated. <3

  1. yellow ones would be nice, they have them in wilkinsons at skegness, £2.50 i think.

  2. I would use the type that look kinda like a shower curtain rod. If your windows are inset at all, these rods are on tension springs. You can place them all the way up as high as need be inside the window recess and block out your light. I found some at WalMart for about $3 each. http://www.amazon.com/Inch-White-Spring-Tension-Rod/dp/B000FKDEPS/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=furniture&qid=1202527459&sr=1-3

  3. ah I’d just staple the mofo’s up there…I myself just tape up some black construction paper and that works out for me
