If you planning for a perfect bedroom decor then the first thing that you will need is patience. Because the hastily made decisions are detrimental to an ideal bedroom decor. It is amazing the difference it makes when you swap your curtains with window blinds. Curtains will work only when they hanging down, but window blinds can be used both vertically and horizontally, which means they can be used in most rooms in your house.

A good combination of interior design ideas is to have a brightly coloured window blind and then co-ordinate the dominant blind colour into the window treatment such as the tabs on tab top curtains or in a border on the heading of eyelet curtains. Voile curtains work well with bedroom blinds as the delicate voile softens the rather harsh lines of the blind giving a romantic feel to the room. You may wish to restraint the amount of light in your bedroom. Some of us like to sleep in complete darkness whilst others prefer to wake with the rising sun. Blackout blinds are the ideal solution to excessive light. If you wish to use window blinds in conjunction with your curtains there is a very wide range of coloured roller blinds to choose from.

PVC Blinds are as the designation says manufactured from PVC or poly vinyl chloride. Thanks to the flexibility of PVC you can have virtually any color or design and they are cheap and no problem to clean. They are awfully popular, because they are long lasting, resilient, easy to clean and light. Of course with the huge range of designs and ease of fitting you have no hassles when you change your room around. They are easy to fit with lightweight fixtures that simply screw into the wall. For some folks the plastic appearance is not appreciated and means they tend to avoid them.

Composite blinds are good for these kinds of people, as they are a combination of polymers and wood based products. It is a newer material but looks more like wood with a smooth surface. Although they cost more than PVC they come in a wide variety of designs and for many people the small extra cost is worth it. Genuine wooden blinds are the designers favorite. The prices start at reasonable all the way up to luxury. As with most manufactured goods they are often imported from the Far East whilst the premium wooden blind will use locally grown wood and be manufactured locally.

Wooden blinds on the whole are the most expensive but can be stained or painted to fit in with your room. They are long lasting and not too heavy. Over time sunlight may fade their colour and slightly warp them but for many people this is an added mark of homeliness.
