   Beautiful, soft curtain, keeps all light out of the bedroom which is next to a parking lot with lights on all night. I am very pleased that these curtains perform as advertized, no light penetrates. They hang like drapes and are very pretty. I would recommend them to anyone who wants to block the light out, they are a great value.

   Fantastic drapes / curtains – no idea why I had to wait this long!

   Amazon isn’t the first place that comes to mind when looking for drapes – their own stock (as in FSSS) is fairly low, and reviews aren’t plenty. This did come up as an interesting product, so I decided to search some more on this. Ended up at another “surplus stock” website that had slightly better description of the product – Amazon’s description is a little unclear on whether this is a set (as in 2 panels) or single. Yes, it does say at the end that a set is 104 inches and a panel is 52 inches wide, but it still doesn’t say whether I have to buy 2 to make a set or not.

   For the record, this comes as a set in one box.

   Plus, the other site has crazy fast shipping for a dollar, which seemed better than the 5-9 business days slow shipping for free from our dear online super retailer.

   I get the delivery, and am excited to try it out. The box was small, no excess packaging / tricky wraps, and the presentation crisp – better than what I expected from the sub-standard descriptions on the product page (“Soft and Drapery”? Verb and Noun? “Functional and Decorative”? I’m glad its not “Functional and Ugly”). The text on the product packaging is at par with everything else, so I’m guessing its the seller’s handiwork with these funky product descriptions.

   Enough with the packaging. The curtains come out of the package, nice soft yet heavyweight feel to the fabric – almost like a new pair of Khakis. These curtains have hidden tab mounts – something that’s missing from the description. Really easy to put them up, and the hidden tabs (tabs at the back instead of the top) makes it look considerably nicer than tab tops.

   These are wide panels (50″ instead of 40″ I had earlier), and the thick material makes it look prettier completely flat / extended – so I spend a few minutes pushing the curtain rods out by a few inches each.

   Up the curtains go, and I pull it across. This is just past noon, and the curtains are brilliant – absolutely no light passes through them, the only light coming in is between the curtain rod and the wall. Exactly what I needed.

   I’m not sure about the thermal properties, but curtains in general – specially thick ones like these – create a locked buffer of air between the window and the room, so I’m sure they are better than blinds or thin sheer panels.

   Now, I do notice that the fabric is single colored – i.e. there is no white backing to these curtains. A white backing makes sure more light is reflected out, and also saves the curtains from fading in the sun. Time will tell how fading-prone these are. At the prices, I don’t really care much, as long as I can get a few years out of them.

   I don’t care much for the stars – but definitely gives the eye something to look at, specially when an entire wall is covered by little shiny stars. They are better than leaving it plain. These are blackout drapes, so it doesn’t matter what the print is when there’s light outside and dark inside – you won’t see a thing.

   One last note – Best Home Fashion is the manufacturer of these curtains, as indicated on the packaging. They are 100% Polyester, and made in China.

   *Edit* : I take back what I said about the English on the package being better than that on the product description on Amazon. Its just as bad, just didn’t read as closely. Its still soft and drapery, and provides comfiness on top. Got a chance to read it more carefully when typing it into the customer photo notes.

   I ordered them for a third bedroom in my house, and now I wish I had them in my own because they block out the sunlight SO much better, and I need a DARK room to sleep in. Unless I tie them back with the provided tiebacks, that room is dark enough to look like nighttime at high noon! And I love the stars that are on the surface. (No, you can’t make them out in the darkness, but they do make for nice conversation with a light on in the room, or when the curtains are tied back.
   
   The price was right, the delivery quick, and as already stated. If you want to block sunlight from entering a room… you’d be hard pressed to do better than these–especially at this price!

   I purchased the Navy star curtains for my son’s sky-themed room, and I am thrilled. My son’s bedroom faces the sunset and can get extremely warm by late afternoon, and I was delighted to find star-themed curtains to match. That these curtains are blackout curtains was just the icing on the cake. We originally put up some thick wood blinds in my son’s room in the hopes that they would cut down on the heat and light. We noticed no change in temperature at all!

   When these curtains arrived and I took them out, I was pleased by how pretty the curtains are and the softness of the material (apparently, they are “soft and drapery,” ^_^). We hung them the following morning and by the afternoon, his room was the only room on that side of the house that was comfortable and cool. Not only that, but during my son’s afternoon nap, he actually woke up because the room was too dark! I would say they block about 98% of the light, but I do still have the blinds behind them, so I’m not certain how much light would get through without the blinds (I held the curtains up to the light, though, and couldn’t see through them, so I would think not too much). He now uses his nightlight for afternoon nap as well, and the curtains are perfect. Highly recommended!

   These are nice curtains. They’re thinner than I expected, but they keep out cold in the winter and sun in the summer. I bought two sets last year and just got another set for another window. They’re worth the money.

   I have purchased (and returned) at least 3 other curtains to various retailers that have advertised them to be “black-out” curtains. These are the real deal! The curtains truly block out the light very well. They are 100% polyester and the blue is a deep navy. They hang very well, the wrinkles are slowly disappearing and they have a silky feel. They even come with tiebacks! I highly recommend them, especially if you work the night shift or just like it dark for a good nap!

   Just a follow up – we just got back from Vegas (May 2010) and our room darkening curtains in the hotel were not as DARK as the ones in our home bedroom! Still lovin’ this purchase.

   Wow, I really love these grommet top curtains. I purchased these months ago and washed few times and it still looks like brand new! They are really easy to care, I do not even have to iron them. The crease disappeared few days after I hung them. I’ve been recommending these drapes to everyone and I will purchase more for rest of my house.

   Have a 200″ X 84″ set of windows in south-facing living room, and these drapes are a perfect and inexpensive solution to the hot summer/cold winter temps that have plagued this room. They feel good, hang well, and look quite nice. The grommets (no extra cost for those stupid clip rings!) slide easily but feel quite sturdy (field-tested by two teenage boys). And they do in fact block the light and insulate against the heat of the sun. Have shopped around everywhere, and these are a great deal.

    These curtains are great! Total blackout – very impressed! Great value for your money. The only downfall is that I wish they had nickel grommets – not brass.
