The door is more expensive and is harder to keep looking good. it has to be kept clean and have the hardware and the sealant joints maintained. A heavy clear vinyl curtain liner with Mildrew Resistance and then a really stylish shower curtain looks really nice for a little money. You can get towels, and rug to match it. The liner should be changed every 3 months. Then the curtain can be changed to completely change the look of your bath.

If you don’t have children and are fairly neat, a curtain can be a nice addition to the bath. Change the curtain and chane the whole look of the bath. But – you have to remember to wipe the bottom of the liner before pushng it aside to prevent mold. And keep the liner in the tub and the decorative curtain outside the tub. Kids don’t seem to grasp the concept (and some DHs either)
The doors do require cleaning. With the new trackless it is so much easier than it used to be. But they make keeping the floor dry an no brainer. You can still hang a shower curtain in front for a decoration.
