Question by Charlotte: I just spilt fabric softener on a new pair of silk curtains...what shall I do to get it off?
I was carrying things into the house from the garage. I didn't know that the lid had broken on the fabric softener and it toppled over and spilt down the newly papered wall and on the curtains. It has cleaned off the wall, and my mum is leaving the softener to dry on the curtains to see what to do with them. Has this ever happened to anybody else? Perhaps not on curtains, on anything. What would you do to get it off?

Are the curtains washable? If so, remove and wash in multiple changes of plain water ASAP. Do not let the fabric softener dry on the fabric.
If the curtains have to be dry cleaned, take them to a reputable cleaner ASAP and tell them what the problem is.
