Question by molly.l.p.: Is there a difference between drapes and curtains?
I was under the belief that curtains are for privacy and drapes are for decor, but someone else told me there's no difference. If that's the case, how do you differentiate between the two?

I grew up thinking that drapes are pulled open and closed by a string and curtains were closed by you pulling them closed yourself. I guess it depends on where you were raised.
