These truly are blackout curtains. No light will come through these. They are velvet, but a bit stiff and don’t hang gracefully. Not a deal breaker though. I wish they were just a bit wider too.

We purchased these curtains to help with heating costs. Like anything else, when it comes home I wash it. When I washed these they fell apart. Even following the directions printed on the label. The backing flaked off and left a residue all over the fabric. They do work well for insulating, but the dust created every time we open and close is almost not worth it.
